Installation
There are three different types of installations:
- Floating floor (Easi-Lock)
- Secret nailing the floor down to a wood sub-floor (Tongue & Groove)
- Gluing the floor down to a concrete or wood floor (Tongue & Groove)
All methods of installation need careful preparation
- The floor must be clean, dry and level.
- Concrete must be checked for moisture content; moisture should not exceed 4%. It is recommended that a sealer is used to ensure complete safety.
- Bamboo flooring is a natural product and needs to acclimatise.
- Place the flooring in the room/s in which it will finally be laid, lay the boxes flat and open, and leave the product in the boxes for a minimum of 72 hours.
- Allowing the product to acclimatise will assist in avoiding any future problems.
- As there will be variations in colour and patterns, due to the bamboo being a natural product, it is recommended that when the product is removed from the boxes, it should be sorted into groups of light, medium and dark.
- When laying the floor, stagger the colour/pattern throughout the whole area. With all panel flooring lay the boards in the line of the greatest natural light source.
- Inspect all boards for defects or imperfections.
- Wipe up all excess glue from traffic areas
